Rootwire Results

 This past weekend I took a plane from Belgium (n back) to Rootwire Festival in Ohio. It was a really beautiful and intentional event. I got to show my art along many other spiritual expressors, collaborated with them, painted a few murals and even live painted in front of a few thousand peoples during the performance of a popular jam band called Papadosio. All in all it was a real nice time and was stoked to share my art with so many.

Today I was surprised to see some of my art on CNN. Here is a video about my dear city of Montreal, which starts in my lil hood, with a shot of one of my murals. No credit given, but stoked either way! I Love Montreal and I can't wait to be back home.

New Tapestry

Walsh n piece on the news

My good friend Barry Walsh was on the news again a couple of days ago. This time it's about his ghetto youth skate school, that is under danger because NDG skate shop got flooded and is dieing... Other than the news, you can see one of my spray paint pieces in the background, giving you the finger!

Back from Italy!!

 So, I haven't made a post on this blog for over a month cause I was off travelling and doing art away from computor boxes. I spent 3 weeks of this time in a small Eco village called Torri Superiori in Italy, where I took a visionary art techniques intensive with epic artists like Amanda Sage, Andrew Gonzalez, Maura Holden, Laurence Caruana, etc. In between learning the ancient Misch technique, I also got to give a quick "visionary graffiti" workshop, which was a first but wont be the last!
After that I kept on cruising with my dear wife Valerie (celebrating our 2nd year anniversary) to epic Florence and Geneve in Switzerland. The world is full of great art and natural beauty, and Im always happy to see that. Anyways, here's a couple of pics but if you want to see more you can go to my Facebook. Quintin Co. Video of me in Los Angeles

Here is a quin n fun video that Quintin Co. hats just released about my resent visit to Los Angeles. We did a collaboration hat together so they filmed and edited this piece to help me get the word out. If you would like a hat, you can get them HERE.

New Blotter Art Available!

 In my recent trip to LA I got to meet Ken Kasey's son Zane. He still drives the famous "Further" bus that Ken and his band of Merry Pranksters used to cross the states in 1964 doing acid everywhere. It was also featured in Tom Wolfe's famous book "The Electric Kool-Aid Test". Zane now sells blotter art on the back of this historical bus, which now include some of my own pieces in that mix. Lil G Group Show

I will be part of this very cool group exhibition this Wednesday in San Diego. They gave us these new Boom box vinyl toys where ipods can go in n play music. Should be interesting to see how each artists did it up.

 Last week I jammed a garage door in Gent Belgium with a couple of local painters from there. Bue the Warrior and Scarpulla collaborated with me as you can see on this fun time lapse. I just received my sample of my profile trading card what is coming out soon with "The Art Hustle" This 3rd series includes epic low brow artists like Chet Zar, Gary Baseman, Cope 2, Glenn Barr, Niagara, KMNDZ, Johnathan Levine, Dirty Donny, etc, etc, etc. Now I got to draw up a stack of these to exchange with the artists too. Moksha Symbol Unveiling Video

Here is a new Youtube video I just posted of the unveiling of the Moksha Symbol last December in Miami. I was a bit tipsy so my crappy speech skills came out extra wakky, but at the same time I think it came out pretty  funny n real. I just get tired of visionary artists acting all serious as if their painting alone will rescue humanity. Yes, that is our intention, but we shouldnt act arrogant about it and keep it light. Anyways, I hope you enjoy ths visionary comedy.

CHROMATIK group show

This weekend CHROMATIK goes down. It si a big fancy multidiciplinary art show with music performances n stuff. I was selected to have my Moment of Truth painting on there, so Im happy cause thousands new people will be able to see it. Unfortunetly I am not in Montreal at this time (in Belgium for some months) so I will miss it. For more details, please got HERE.

Quick show at "Death of Vinyl"

So I just got back from my very productive trip to Los Angeles, and spending 2 crazy busy days in Montreal before flying to Belgium for 2.5 months.
Despite this tomorrow Wednesday night (the 16th) I am showing some art at "Death of Vinyl" record store on 6307 Saint Laurent. It will be the official inauguration of my mural and entrence. Barry will also be showing some of his boom boxes and Mossman will be showing his hand painted jamaican signs and record labels. Should be chill.

Brandon Lomax Blog post

I just got in from my very productive week in Los Angeles, and I saw this very nice post by an artists friend about me. Brandon Lomax is a talented artist and graphic designer for clients like Roxy, Reef, In I, Satori, etc. We hanged out for a day or 2 in Venice and Topanga where he lives. Good times. My mom just sent me these Slide Skate mags from peru. In them I spotted a little review of my DVD movie. Yes, spelling mistakes are a peruvian heritage I've inherited. Happy to have a connection with the skate scene of my original country. Did you see the movie yet? If not, go HERE.

Book Review in Rebel Ink mag

The new issue of Rebel Ink Tattoo Magazine just came out and in it's first pages my book got a nice review. Im extra stoked cause I've never been in a tattoo mag. Grab a cop if possible.

Art Battle of Los Angeles

Next Week I will be in Los Angeles, California to participate in my first ever ART BATTLE, at CK (Connoisseur Kulture) Trade Show. My opponents are Dunkees Skateboards' Daniel Militonian and Windwood Walls Shai Moreno. Will I crush em into a humiliating defeat or shall I be stomped myself? The mission of my art is a bit different from any competitive fight, but it should be a fun live jam either way. I will also have a booth with my products at wholesale prices. I heard Snoop Dog might be snooping around and maybe some Marleys, so Im stoked. The CK trade show is happening May 11th and 12th at Barker Hangar (3021 Airport Avenue, Santa Monica, Ca). Salon Masse Group show

 

Yesterday night was the opening to the group show by most En Mass crew members, at Galerie Pangee downtown Montreal. It is the first time  we have show together our "normal" art, instead of doing a  black n white collaboration piece. So the selections where quite epic and the place packed.
Sorry for the delayed heads up on this, but if you're in the Montreal art scene you probably where there anyways. Plus, the show hangs until June 30th. Gallerie Pange is on the 4th floor of the Belgo Building (373 Saint Catherine West, suite 412).

Present Minded Party

Tonight at Club Lambi there is a Psy trance party called Present Minded. A few of my art prints will be on display there. I should go n check it out, but Im pretty tired from last night and all the workshops I've been teaching these days. So instead I'll spend Friday night catching up on emails, fun. But yeah, you should go.

Creation Board Launch in Montreal

Yesterday, my friend Barry Walsh and me threw another one of our series of event here in Montreal. Sorry I forgot to post it here before, but you probably saw it on Facbook.

Anyways, it was a great bash where lots of local art n skate heads came together for good vibes, music, drinx, art n danxin.
Underworld let us do it at their new bar. Barry n Alex Forbes (Vans Canada) spun vinyl classics. Peru and Other (in Montreal for 1 night only) joined me to exhibit original art on the wall, along some of the new boards of the Creation catalogs.

It was a great time and I'll post more pics on my Facebook soon.

Headlining at Rootwire Festival in Ohio this August

So, as a "Visionary Artist" I know I should be following the stereotype and make the scene at every electronic festival the summer can offer. But honestly, even though I can have fun there, it's not really my thing. I can be right by Burning man or Boom and I will opt to do art or skate in more peaceful settings. Sorry!

BUT, onc ein a while a festival (or 2) will do an effort to make me part of their festivities by flying me out and taking care of my confort there. So it is with pleasure that I announce that I will be one of the headliners at ROOTWIRE Festival out in OHIO this coming August.

There I will be showing art, live painting and doing one of my visionary comedy speeches. Dudes putting it together seem pretty conscious too, stoked. If you're out in the mid west, see you there!!

Spring workshops n murals.

This last month of spring I've been on the husstle to save up funds for a nice few month sin Europe this summer. I have done a bunch of skate art workshops and speeches at different high schools. I also did a few murals there and at some businesses in my neighbourhood. Fun stuff n gathering loot.

New article in Color skate mag

I just got a full page article in the newest issue of Color Magazine. They are a popular artsy skate mag from Vancouver, British Columbia and it has taken long for me to do a proper infiltration. The words they wrote are pretty flattering and they also plugged my book, so Im stoked. Get the mag in a magazine store near you.

Malibu Hamish Video Blog

This cool dude from Malibu, California, Hamish "The Illusion" does these video blogs of stuff people send him. In this wepisode he is having a hard day until he opens up a package I sent him and he gets all stoked on the little art products in there. Siad it rebounded him back to positive, so that's pretty cool. Fun starts at minute 5.

Devil's Toy Launch in Expose Blog

Last Friday night there was a screening and board launch dedicated to the classic 1966 Montreal Skate movie "the Devil's Toy". I live painted all night then, to the amazement of thousands.
