Sk8 Art Show at Everhart Museum

Gallery shows are great, but is always a great honour to be part of a museum exhibition. So Im stoked to announce that I will have 5 of my original skate art pieces (the Pat Maphis collection) at the Everhart Museum, in northeast Pensilvania, between the 2nd of August and the 30th of December. The show is about the history of skate art and includes many of it's biggest creators.

Open Mind Festival

REALIZE zine

This week, the new issue, #8, of Realize (art n skate) Zine from Cali, just came out. I have the cover and am stoked, along an 8 page interview. I also interviewed Kenny Reed n Labrona. Lots of fun content. The photocopy version is circulating skate shops but you can already check it online here.

England Festivals

This summer I will have my art shown in England for teh first time at a series of festivals like Freqs of Nature, Antaris, Summer never Ends, Pearl Um and a few more. Other great artist exhibited there  along organic food, chill djs n ton sof niceness.

COSM Events in August

 So the Visionary Church with Alex n Alyson Grey and Amanda Sage, is now called "Visionary Salon" and will happen a day earlier, on August 3rd.

Station 16 Group show

In collaboration with the Mural Festival, Station 16 made a super dope group show with all of the artists that participated on the streets this past week. The opening already went by, by the art is still up for a month of so. For more info on this new cool gallery, go HERE.

MURAL Festival

Last week I was the last minute addition to MURAL Festival, which is Canada's first Street Art (do not confuse with graffiti) big scale event. I  was given a huge wall to paint besides local wall killers like Other, Labrona, Botkin, Omen, A-shop, etc. and international heavyweights like Roa, Gaia, Pixel Pancho, Phlegm, etc. What an honor and though a hard week of work it was super fun and rewarding.

The aftermath was great too, cause my art made it into several places including CTV news, The Huffington Post, Brooklyn Street Art, Vandalog, 33Mag, Streets are saying things, Daily Motion, Bizarre Beyond Belief magazine, T+E blog, 24h newspaper  etc, etc. I was also instagramed by the original graffiti photographer Martha Cooper and the infamous Instagrafite.
So yeah, Im stoked!

Sole Power Group Show

This Friday at GreenLight Gallery, I will be part of another fun group art show there. This time the canvas are Vans shoes. So it should be a pretty fun one. See you there!

Last days in San Diego

 So for the past week n a half I've been cruising around San Diego n areas linking up with the local skate scene n painting. I've already dropped murals at Seedless Clothing's backyard mini ramp, Jake Brown music studio (inside the DC shoes monster ramp) and at Fabrizio Santos' backyard skate complex. Anyways, my solo art exhibition has been up at the Artlab for a week now and tomorrow is the last day, with a closing party. I will also be right across the street spray painting a mural during the day, as you can see from this ad in the weekly newspaper/mag "City Beat". So yeah, if you're in San Diego, get yourself there so I can say hello and/or goodbye!

Rootwire Festival 2013

Artists for Animals, group exhibition

This is the full page ad in the latest Decover Magazine, for a group artshow I am part of, which is raising funds to rescue animals. Presently, I have 3 visionary friends raising money with the crowd-funding system of "Kickstarter". Go n check them out, and please pitch in at least one:

Peruvian Ayahuasca article

I just got the heads up that CT Magazine from Peru had an article on Ayahuasca where they used my art to illustrate the mother vine. Unfortunately they didn't ask me for permission or credit me, but I dont mind much since at least they where using my art for positive purposes, which is what it's all about. Positive Creation Mix Tape out now!!! Free!!!

For years I have been wanting to release a Mix CD with the tunes of many of my talented musical friends, but never could afford to produce them. I tried this again when I released my DVD, but once again I couldn't spare the extra coin for this fun project. So now many years later I am releasing this first Positive Creations Mix tape Online, as a Soundcloud set where you can listen n download 32 of my friends' best gems!! My art on powerful CNN video

This week my art was on CNN again, in teh shape of a tapestry behind a fan of my art. That is cool n all, but the real reason to see this video is to hear teh story that she and her husband tell. He, Tomas, went to war in Iraq cause he thought he was defending his country. He was injured and crippled pretty quick and on his returned started spreading truth about  the war. By now he is in so much pain he is just going to let himself die. Hopefully a story like this touches some hearts and helps stops so much unnecessary suffering in this poor planet of ours. Visionary Mind MTL show

 

Back in 2009 I tried to introduce Visionary art to my city of Montreal. That event included over 30 of the best international artists of that movement, an dit was pretty successful, but too much work for an overwhelmed artist like myself...
That is why I am stoked to announce that Open Mind Festival is throwing a big Visionary art party this Saturday!! I will be there from 3pm till 3am guiding some workshops, live painting, giving a slideshow speech, showing original artwork, etc.
Other artist son the lineup include MArk Henson, Martina Hoffmann, Juan Carlos Taminchi, Randal Roberts, etc.

RaveNectar tee

This lil clothing brand from Montreal called RaveNectar just made this prototype tee with one of my paintings. Looks pretty sweet. Color Ink Book

ColorInk Book is a DIY periodical that serves as a coloring book with the best low Brow art out there. I recently submitted a few of my black n white drawings (which are my commercial graphics for different clients) and was stoked to find out that I had 8 full pages in their most recent issue (#18) along big artists like Bigfoot and Angry Woebots. STS9 Posters

This is a double feature poster I made for some concerts that STS9 (Popular jam band) will be having in Chicago soon. The charity group "Conscious Allegiance" asked me to donate it so they can exchange it with perishables and then give those to hungry poor people. RIghteous. Find out more about it HERE.

Live painting at the Montreal FA Museum

Its is now official that this coming August 4th I will be participating at Alex and Allyson Grey's Art Church along the wonderful painter Amanda Sage!!! This is pretty huge cause they are all epic artists and they have 40 acres of nature n visionary art in northern New York. Yesterday I received in the mail my copy of Divining the Dream, a book coming out of Paris, France, that features a worldwide selection of Visionary art. I have a page in there so I'm pretty stoked.
