Yesterday Saturday, a 3/4 page about me and my art came out in The Gazette, Montreal's main newspaper. You can read it, and check more photos and even a little, yet very nicely shot video interview on the Gazette site: H E R E ! Im especially stoked on reaching the mainstream on this one.
Here is a video that Massivart did of the spray paint job we did for them last week, for the Fete des Neiges Festival happening these weekends in Park jean Drapeau. Fun times with artist friends.
I just got an interesting Interview and Book review in a blog from San Francisco called Planet Shifter (aka "Open Myth Source"). Definetely worth checking out here: http://planetshifter.com/node/1984 .
This week the new Concrete Wave Magazine came out and I did one of the covers for them. This is pretty huge as they reach around 100,000 people. In this mag there is also a 2 page article about my new book and later another 8 page article about longboarding spirituality that was completely illustrated by me. So if ya like my art, go n grab a copy!!! Im stoked cause this is another success in introducing positive spiritual (visionary) art into the skate industry that dosnt get so much of that.
The last 2 days I was out in Ile Saint Helene, aka Jean Drapeau Park doing a job for "Massivart": spray-painting up a little cottage for the upcoming "Fete des Neiges" festival this weekend. It was the first time Ive done this in sub zero temperatures and though freezing fingers and wet bums aren't so fun, I was hyped on the challenge, new experience and stoked on the results of vibrant color against white snow all around.
I just got this issue of Salt Magazine from Holland that has my art on the cover and a 2 page article on me. Pretty sweet even if I can't understand what is sais (it's in dutch). Always stoked to get my art seen around the world!!
For the last three months I have been Brand manager for Creation Skateboards, and in that time I have tried to make this brand my own, at least stylistically. This week I was finally able to show some of the fruits of my labour by releasing the new Spring/Summer 2012 Catalog. Other than using all sustainable material like recycled wood, bamboo and hemp I got art from some of the best visionary and street artists like Luke Brown, Mear One, Bue, Other, Carey Thompson, Xavi, Mark Henson, Amanda Sage, etc.
I also recruited my good friend Barry Walsh to be Creation's newest Pro, which was hard to keep a secret all this time! In these months I've been building the media to launch this news with a big bang, and it has been. His new welcome video is here below for you to check out and more info on the Creation webpage. www.Creationskateboards.com . I hope you're feeling the against the grain spiritual vibes we're plugging into the industry!!
My good friend Barry Walsh just got a full page picture in the latest Thrasher Magazine. It is in a 2 page article about the move of the Big O pipe. Behind him we can see the spray paint piece I did for Creation Skateboards. Its funny, cause it is exactly 5 years from the 2 page article I got on my art in Thrasher. Pretty stoked to be in it again.
